Great idea! Magritte is one of my favourite painters (love the one with the pipe). I also submitted a photo of something which is normally seen as paintings. I like that idea very much :-) I'm very interested how you did it. The shadow of the head/hat looks not so good and it would be better without. The background of the original is better ;-) Other than that I think that's not only a very creative but also technically good photo. So high points from me. -stephan |

background lighting needs some work. Could also do with some more white space above and less black suit below.

Great shot. I only have two little nit-picky complaints (and they weren't enough to lower your score, I just noticed them). The shadow around your head, and I think the tie would have been more effective if it had been solid red. Otherwise, great shot. karmat |

Why did this need to be validated by the administrators? Anyway, I do like the idea, very witty - and more of an impersonation than a copy of someone else's art! Make the tie knot bigger. And the apple looks a little pale. :) 6, Kavey |

Very nice photo. Nice effect. To me, this seems so "do-able", the admin note wasn't needed. Did you use a pencil or a fork? The only suggestion I can think of, shorten the pencil/fork/whatever to have the apple closer to the model (or a smaller apple) to expose a tad more face. 9 Swash |

Very unique. Creativity gets high marks from me and precise control of camera technique helps pull it together. The only nits I have with the image is I was looking for a bit better detail in the hat/suit..its pretty dark on my monitor and my monitor is calibrated for magazine ad work (meaning as good as it gets). Plus the background is a bit close causing a lineup shadow..If you could have had a backlit piece of plexiglass as a backdrop at about 6 feet back thats how most studio shots are done. Still..exceptional..8..hokie |

I love this, A masterpiece of a masterpiece. The concept is fabulous. There are quite a few art lovers on this sight, but I fear a large group of members may not understand exactly what you have accomplished here. Best wishes with this one. 9 Gotcha

This is the most creative idea I've seen in this bunch. Incorporating a fruit into something that's meaningful (if you know art, anyhow) 9-BigSmiles |

Great job! My only suggestion for improvement would be to either make the shadow stronger with more lighting or get rid of it by having the subject step away from the wall. 9 Lisa |

This is really cool. Great idea! Love the hat. Maybe we just don't have enough art folks around here. The lighting seems a bit flat maybe and the apple color doesn't pop like it could (the glare on it is distracting). The shadow on the wall is also a tad bothersome. Still, this photo stands out and is a great alternative to all the boring fruit pics. A+ for creativity even if it wasn't original. ~indigo997 |

Great idea and great recreation. The only critique I have is that the black seems to be overexposed. I wish the shadow wasn't there but it doesn't take anything away from the image for me. Good job. 9 |
