SWIM TO THE WALL!!!

Champlain Valley Swim League event...Middlebury Vt Mini-Marlins race prep team; you should see the mob of people at this event; the chaos, although organized can be overwhelming! For a lot of these little kids, this was their 2nd or 3rd meet. They go 25yds, ages 5 & 6, and swim their little hearts out after training every morning; they are awesome in their determination !

this little fish is our friend Annie, 6 yrs old; a very tough competitor for such a sweet little cookie...

Freestyle event age 8 yrs & under; TRIUMPH!! She WON! I

MAGE: crop, sharpen, adjust lighting & contrast, resize for DPC

I think this is a great action shot of your friend's daughter. The expression on her face makes me feel as if she has been swimming for a while and is just happy to finally reach the wall. I see where others have commented the lane marker looks more in focus than she does though and it does slightly appear that way. But I don't think that takes away from this photo enough to warrant the score you received. I am happy you got in the top 50, but think you deserved more.

Next time you get to shoot this, make sure your camera is on AI Servo and track her as she is coming in the wall, the whole time when she gets close enough just keep ing clikcing away and I am sure you will catch another great expression, time after time.

What a great shot! I hope this gives happy memories for years to come. :) The lane dividers provide very nice framing.

Very interesting shot. I like the "framing" from the lane markers. Your detail is nice and your lighting is good. I might have cropped just a bit tighter on the right wide as the blurry thing is a little distracting to me. Don't remove completely, just diminish it's presence in the shot.

Perfect facial expression, even if a bit blurred. Might have been a bit better if cropped in more.

Good timing to catpure an actual triumphant moment. Congratulations, 30% through voting and this is the first shot I've seen to have done it.

Oh... my... GOSH! this is wonderful. I just love the emotion, expression... and her hand. Great capture. Nice colors and composition, also.

It looks like your focus is closer to the back part of the frame. The subject is a little soft.

Image is too bright and the girl is out of focus (or camera blur?). I also am not sure how this is a triumph unless she swam a long way to get here, in which case there's no way of telling that in the photograph.

Nice capture of the child but the softness is too distracting as is the out of focus wall on the left - Cropping out all the foreground out of focus bouys and cropping most of the wall to just leave a little of it helps add impact to this.
