Okay, the Blue Angels are in town. I pay a lot of taxes and this is my only rationale for getting my money’s worth. I will spend 4 days on the flight line and take a gazillion pictures. So far, I have 4 images that may be published by the Seattle Times … But none of those fit the current portfolio of challenges.

This is a simple picture. I doubt it will win awards. But I like it, and maybe this will please voters as much as it pleases me.

Hello from the critique club!

I think you have a wonderful image here! I've seen a lot of pictures of jets, especially the Blue Angels. In your picture, all four jets fit fairly well into the frame, and the upside down jets are clear. I think a closer crop would have been nicer. You also run into a little bit of a merger with the jets on the left, but it doesn't really hurt the image too much. The colors are all very nice as well.

I think your two weak areas are that merger, and the focus. Although the focus is amazing for that kind of shot, it is still a little off, and I can't ignore it. It seems a little rough, and if it was smoother, it would be more appealing.

Great capture -- a bit of distortion around the edges of the planes. Still great as the difficulty of photographing these speeds is impressive.

The small size constraints in the challenges rarely do Aviation Photography justice. Thanks for trying. Good shutter work. What! I just noticed that this photo had to be 'Validated'. That's just crazy. People can be so idiotic. For that, I'm bumping up the score I was gonna give you. Good luck to ya!
