 Allright, some people might vote it down for not meeting the challenge details. First, I don't care. Second, they are wrong. Recall the 1980s 10cc lyric 'telephone line is like a lifeline' and translate it to 2007. Too subtle for some DPC-people, I know. I am willing to accept the (let's say) minus 0.2 penalty or so. Still expect it to end high five, would be pleased with a 6+

mmm, not quite sure why it scored so low, despite the 24 (!) comments. The shallow DOF seemed to disturb some, but one commenter even liked it. Composition is not great, with hindsight, I think cropping below to get a square picture would have been better.

Maybe I underestimated the effect of people feeling this did not meet the Challenge or maybe many people dind't get or like the interpretation?

Ha - get Out of the Box thinking. Just wish the DOF also included the plug. It being so blurry, and so bright draws the eye and makes the whole image look OOF. 6 anyway for creative thinking, and nice reflections

This is the best idea and unique in the challenge. The execution was not quite there. If a shallow dof was the only way to take this, for me I would have shot the ethernet cable in focus and had the laptop oof. Again for me, as it is the oof cable is more of a distraction than part of the story. Great Idea...

Oh you literalist you... Actually this is a nice shot - I'm not thrilled with blurry foregrounds, but you have a nice reflection, nice lighting, and weren't afraid to go close.
