Thanks, all, for the great comments and votes. See the original above, and an explanation(?) for the crop. |

So many times you see these things go wrong. I bet they wished they had a net sometimes. Very nice processing on a well done shot. |

Not bad but compositionally I think there should be a little bit more space to the left of him. Got a 6 from me. |

Nice air. It's crowded on the left side with the guy's fingers just about touching the edge of the frame and two strange lines (tree branches) coming out of the left side. I think if there was more space ahead of him for him to go into and to more establish the trees on the left it would be improved. Good interpretation of the challenge. |

Wow! this is a fantastic shot. Love the gray scale, Focus is very crisp. My pick for the blue ribbon. Excellent...and I hate skate punks..LOL! Great job. |

Oh just got him! Great capture, It would have been nice to have him on the right hand side with some where for him to go instead of going out of the photo. Well done! |

Good sharp action shot...more space in front than behind would be nice, but you can't always pick the angle with the jumper coming from nowhere! |

I think this would be a better image if the subject were moving into rather than out of the image. |

Overall a good photo! A litle oversharp though -- jagged halo on the sk8r. |

The object looks going out of the frame. More space in front of the boy could have been much better. |

Nice capture - Like the tones - I almost like the composition but could do with just a tad more room on the left. |

9. Put him on the right side so he's jumping INTO the picture and it's a 10 :) |

Great shot. I like the rule-breaking - not giving him active space to move into. Works for me. Slight sharpening halo. |

The tones are very nice and a great capture of action. Compositions where the subject is leaving the frame offer an interesting tension. But here he is so close to the edge of the frame that the balance really feels off. |
