I cant believe all the people that think all the shots are cropped in some way. me and alot of other photographer dont ever crop anything. the shot simply is, what it is. I havent cropped a shot in about 10 years |

Brilliant photo. The shapes here are very dramatic. I've been giving out a lot of 10s, but here's another one :) - lisae |

I love this. The way the black vest bleeds into the darkness is great and the way the flame lights his face and skin is wonderful. I like the positioning of his arms, and of him within the frame. The flame has been captured brilliantly and would not be so striking against any other background. I'd like there to be just a hint more black space above the top of the flame so it is more surrounded by the darkness of the frame. This is an excellent image! 10, Kavey |

Spectacular! Great timing! Wouldn't change a thing. In fact, you're getting bumped up one. I don't get the negative space, but haven't gotten it on most pics, so I'm not grading against that this week. Great photo! 10 Swash |

nice job. I like how this is framed, and it is an excellent capture for what seems to be a low light situation. karmat |

excellent subject. Negative space plays less of a part than it should for the challenge. 8 |

Looks scary. I'd like it even better if there weren't so much flame (caught earlier in the eruption), or maybe if it hadn't been quite so bright. But then again, I might end up liking this one better...after the challenge, if it's OK with you, I'd like to try making an adaptation to this image. |

(i'm only making quick comments for scores 8+, sorry) Very cool. Yes, neg space adds umph to this photo...if the background was say...yellow, it just wouldn't work. 8 Ruthann |

Cool shot. Exposure must have been very hard. You maybe should've used another light on the performer to avoid over-exposing the flame. |

This photo is quite phenomenal. The only critique I would have on this is trivial to the overall impact of the photo... A shot like this is practically impossible to compose they way you want to, but the flame is too close to the top edge of the frame... The only consequences of that is that matting it for framing would be a challenge... :) great shot... = 10 - jmsetzler |

right place right time eh? technical issues: this shot has wide exposure latitude so you exposed for the face but that made much of your fire blow out .. the crop to me is also a little close to the flame. however you may not have had a chance to do it differently. 9. mag99 |

The negative space in this image is all around the subject. Try concentrating it more in one area of the image instead. |

Good photo. Well captured. Nice tone. Maybe it would have been better with some dark space at the top to continue the border around the subject. |
