I thought this picture would do better in this challenge. I liked it alot. Good job John. After hearing your idea it only gets better.

My idea with this photograph was to make as much of the glass disappear as possible... I setup this glass on black posterboard with black posterboard as a bakcdrop as well. I filled the glass with water and added one drop of red food coloring. I made about 75 shots with the light at different positions, and this is the result that I liked best.

The theme on the "Blood Sport" photo is one of the gambles/risks involved with drinking. The dice are symbolic of the gamble and the blood red liquid is symbolic of the alcohol and tragedies that are sometimes caused by it.

This photo scored ok but it didn't stir up many comments...

clean, technically well lit and shot - not sure it really says much to me though. Slightly disturbed that the glass dissappears towards the upper left. Don't get the title - Gordon

wicked cool

Yahtzee, anyone. I like how this is lit, and the colors present. I also think it might look good with the contrast turned way up. karmat

Good message. Coloring and exposure are good. Focus is appropriately sharp. Negative space is used to break up the visually mundane glass.

this is a very interesting and imaginative shot .. i like the surface it's on and how you've gotten the background to go dark, giving a sense of space.. very creative, reminds me of something i would see in a video game like quake or unreal : ) .. you should be an artist : ) 8. mag99

Does that mean gambling is a bloodsport? I like the color of the dice and how it is lit up on the bottom one. 6

On a relook at this I have marked it up I think that my first rating was based on a poorly adjusted screen I lost all detail in the bottom half of the pic, which I now see.

wonderfully striking, excellent lighting!

Ususally photos with wine or martini glasses turn me off. This I really like. The red reflection on the dice is beautiful. Interesting use of negative space -- in the glass and around it. Great job.
