I liked this idea very much. I hope by copying his idea only is acceptable, as I do not have an sailing harbour near me. My wife and I walk around this lake almost every Sunday morning. Today with a paint roller and the camera and very early, befor the wind comes up. We had some interesting comments from passers by on what we were doing.

This is a great re-take of my old shot from the selective desat challenge. I think you did a fine job capturing the scene, and I agree with many of the comments given. I, too, like how you put the painter in color against the black and white background to make them stand out more. This was an improvement over the original. I'm flattered you chose my shot, and impressed with the result.

Gosh....this looks like where I live, Okananogan Valley. Nice image and tribute!

Great thought and follow through. I laughed in awe.

I like the subtle changes you made to this work of art. The only negative I can find is that the roller strokes are strait up and down, and not curved naturally, a small detail the original photographer nailed perfectly. This gets a 8 from me.

Very nice!

You did a good job on emulating the original. I like how you differ yours with having the painter in bright & bold color on the desaturated side while painting the scenery with color. In this way the painter really stands out from the scene and becomes a more visibly important element within the painting of the scene. Good job in matching the shape of the roller in that portion of the 'painting' where it looks like the roller just went over it. There is one element that I wish one or both compositions had in the photo to increase the visual impact: one or several paint cans.

About as good as the other version I saw so far. This one has the roller, but there should really be B/W below the roller and color above it.

great idea. The background needs a lot more color.

Even better than the original?

I like that your clothes are in color. That was the one thing I didn't like about the original.

I was thinking about doing this one myself, but never found the time or the place.

I like the pink take on this one.

Nice shot!

Oh,if the paint roller only were filled with the color of the painting.

I think you tried putting your painter IN the BW side on purpose, but thats not really Deja Vuing it to me...
