 This is my PRECIOUS son, you're witnessing him turning 5.

He's SO excited that tomorrow is his birthday - WOW how it rubs off - we're ALL excited - and no matter what I offered him, he wouldn't be bribed to stay 4 years old - SMILE!

Ok so the details - tripod (of course) focal length 22mm

ISO 100
TV 1/4
AV 4.5
Exposure Comp. - 2/3

Ambient light from three low level lights - two VERY small fluro - one red hued lamp.

Converted in DPP from RAW then toyed with in Photoshop, standard levels, selective colour etc, then a 'dreamy' optiverve filter added and opacity reduced somewhat.

Aww what a sweet pea. Happy belated birthday to your baby! Mine turned 5 in June and I was thinking, boy he'd never sleep in a room this bright lol. Love all the colors and the precious moment.

How sweet & innocent he looks, I bet he just can't wait to be 5. Isn't it funny, when you're a kid you're not just 4, you're 4 & 3/4. lol, as you get older you just want to go backwards.

My son is already excited about 6 (will happen in January) because then he will be old enough to play little league football! (American football). this is an awesoem shot and one that will always remind you of when he was little.

This is a photo to cherish forever. I like the white border and how it gives the picture a brighter look. The softness makes the picture somewhat dreamy. The overall colors are fantastic. You probably couldn't have found a better quilt to have in a picture.

Aren't they beautiful when they're asleep??? LOL!!! Nice shot and this memory will be wonderful when he's 14 and you're wondering who the devil-child is across the dinner table! LOL!!!

Happy, happy birthday lil' one, or should I say "Big" one!! :) I know just how you feel, both of my boys have birthdays coming up in the next few weeks (turning 3 & 5). My how the time does fly.

Thanks for the inspiration. This is gorgeous. The lightness of it blows me away, especially how he and all the colors just pop. So, so Sweet.

I imagine he would have slept easier if you had turned the lights down. :-P. Really the light is great and although he is sleeping with the back story I think it adds to his excitement even though he is resting.

Oh Lisa!!!!!!! Sigh. 5 already! How fast it goes by. I still have photos like this of my grown "babies" when they were 5, and they still turn my heart to mush when I see them!!!

I love it. LOVE IT!

He looks like an angel...at least when he's sleeping. You did manage to get him to sleep despite the excitement. Yes, the trouble with kids is that they grow up. The PP brightens it and gives it a bit of a high key look.
