I love this idea! The shot seems a little out of focus though. great originality, composition. I wonder what it looks like in color?

Great idea but I think your composition would have been better with a sharp apple in front of a window backdrop. I cant see any need for BW either. Not many in this challenge have thought about the 'subject' as you have (7)

Creative idea, I give you that, not a bad job. But...... the vertical/horizontal lines make it very busy..... I would have taken a real bite out of the apple (verses cutting it like it appears)..... tough exposure with the backlighting such as it is, apple lacks detail as the result.... DOF is to short.

Not clear enough. This is not a photo that can get away with being soft unless you used some fancy lighting and softened the picture up. As a black and white, I think that goes double. This photo is a good candidate to desaturate all the colors but red. good luck

Great idea for the challenge and a very clever idea although I think maybe framing this differently, perhaps the window being more evident that it was a window, and maybe even leaving the apple in red, may have added more interest to this photo. It also seems a bit soft. Good idea tho

Very clever idea and set-up! The focus seems a little soft and the lighting doesn't allow to see as much detail as one could wish for.

Interesting idea, but I'd recommend a tripod as nothing is especially sharp.
