Challenge: Conflict (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Minolta DiMAGE A1
Location: Upland, California
Date: Feb 19, 2004
Aperture: F11
ISO: 100
Shutter: 15 seconds
Galleries: Abstract, Traditional Art
Date Uploaded: Feb 21, 2004

This composition consists of two mirrors (an old mirror with a crack down the middle and another blanket mirror), a clock where the numbers go counter clockwise, a knife, and a flashlight. I took this shot as a long exposure. I began with the clock, flipped on a light, turned it off. I then removed the clock and placed the knife. Here, I used the flashlight to accentuate the knife. It was a very fun shot.

really a neat photo. I may be dense but I don't quite get the conflict.

How does a totally ludicrous knife make time into a conflict? At least it goes well with the somewhat baroque mirror.

Very interesting setup. Kind of make you go 'huh?'

Great shot, interesting reflections. Very artistic, though it doesn't convey the message of conflict by itself.

Oh yeah. This is moody, mysterious, and beautiful. Godd luck in the challenge. 10

Wow, interesting setup; I don't totally get what's going on, but here, I like that it's mysterious. I guess the crack in the glass denotes conflict? Maybe the knife? Anyway, creative.

appealing image but i am not really sure where the clock exists in space but i like the hints on the floor. you did not have to use conflict in the title

clock+mirror+knife=conflict? Sorry not getting the picture...I see the title but what does the knife have to do with time?

I like the use of the purples in this one.

Clever shot but seems a little dark and lacking colour.

Can't help feeling that some additional manipulation might have been used....would like to wrong.

This seems to be a good setup and thinking. The black stripe is distracting (used for holding the knive?). Think it needs better lightning and maybe BW would have been better.

Very interesting and creative... would love to know the setup on this one. But I'm having a problem with seeing how conflict fits in.
