I nearly cooked myself doing this one!
I hope my camera does not suffer.
This is my gas fire in my lounge. (a wood effect one)I used a suppressed flash and got as close as I could. I took it from the side as I found I could see the camera's reflection when taken from the front
cropped and border and downsized. nothing more its just about as it came from my camera.
Phew! glad that's over.

Sorry just not happening for me. Fire is bright enough even in a dark room that it should not need all the long exposure shots that I am seeing so far. Just makes everythiing look blurry because fire is not static enough.
