I just wanted to let you know that this is one of the finest pictures I have seen here or anywhere. The shadows on the mountain, the clouds, the colors, the framing, everything is perfect. I'm jealous and if I ever find out who the two people are who gave it a "1" I'll request their voting priveleges be taken away.

Yours is a dreat picture. You have proven that patience and a good eye can capture a vision in only a few shots. I am glad to see that you were able to take a picture and not make one in the post processing.
Keep up the good work!

I am very honored with your comments and congratulations. The result was specially satisfying for me since that week I spent morning after morning dropping my kids at school, and staying in the parking lot chasing an elusive sun light that I was sure would have to hit that mountain sooner or later, but of course I had to have clouds in my morning sky, and those same clouds were covering my sunlight. Finally, the last day, there was a clearing between the clouds, a 30 seconds chance at it, and I was right there, waiting for it. I was noticed by everyone in school “the strange father who stays every morning with a tripod and a camera, looking at the distance…”

Thanks a lot to all those great photographers who gave this week to me, when so many of them were equally deserving.

I love how you have captured the clouds - I can literally feel them scudding by over me. The yellow coloring on the mountain is quite striking, but I wish I could see the rest of the mountains, but they are a little too dark.

Great shot, love the light on the mountain top. Which was was the wind blowing the clouds? I think it would have been a touch cooler, if the right side of the mountain top was in the sunlight, too. Very dramatic clouds! 10 Swash
09/24/2002 05:59:00 PM
Wow... I like this one quite a bit! Good dramatic sky, and I like the lit mountain on the left. My only nit would be to maybe include more of the lit mountain, and a little less of the sky and the silhouetted mountain on the left. --8-- sohr

09/24/2002 04:05:00 AM
A wonderful view. I think I would have included more of the land and maybe not so much of the sky above the first band of dark cloud. You've taken a nice photo though.
