 i think this bird is an eclectus parrot from the info in this site bird health .. he was in a large aviary with lots of different birds and they werent wearing name tags !!

i took this photograph at the australian zoo on the sunshine coast on 26th january which is australia day !!

i considered putting this photograph in the bird challenge which finishes voting in a few hours, but didnt because i thought it was too boring and then i went temporarily insane .. i'm sure this would'v got a better score than the one i submitted which is getting 4.8 ..

Damn that 100mm Macro is sharp :P
Zoos make good hunting and practising grounds for when you are under pressure in the wild :)

i do like this one much better than the duck you entered into the bird II challenge.

love the green, it definitely makes the eye pop!

Not only are these colors totally brill - but the background and the subject/parrot compliment each other perfectly. Yes, I'm sure this would have done well - but hey - water under the bridge.
