My son in front of his window. He didn't want to smile!

Processing included using a NeatImage type program (ISOX-Pro for Mac)--his freckles would not go into b/w easily! Once it was smoother, selected the background and darkened it while there were colors to select. I converted to b/w with the channel mixer. Then I selectively dodged and sharpened his eyes and slightly increased contrast. Finally, I burned the shoulder on the left because it was just a bit too bright and distracted from his face.

I love this picture! Light stripes are an usual effect in model photographing, - but the way the are brought into the child's face here, is rather brilliant. An exciting and well done portrait. Congratulations!

Stark! Wonderful light! Needs a half a click on the right to help the detail that is there.

I like the b/w and the lighting...the shadows give this an emotional feel to the shot...he doesn't look happy, but this is a nice shot

Great look and pose. I like the blinds shadows and the use of gayscale. The 'dodge' spots on the eyes detract for me though.,7

A very Serious Owen! Love the varied tones. While in general, I llke these blind shots for some reason, IMHO, it does not fit with owen. But that is only my opinion. BOL

I love the lines in this one. You could almost submit it for parallel lines. The exrpession is great too. Good luck!

Serious young man! I like the shadows, light and focus. Not crazy for the 'neat image' or what ever was used. Un-natural looking. Good entry and I hope you do well.

Interesting. Well photographed, but a bit spooky for some reason. I think tilting the head back a little would help, and maybe a little smile too.

The light and pose seem to have given a quite demonic feel! The shadows and texture work very well

Painting with light - very clever and produces an arresting portrait. Works well in black and white. Love the sharpness of the eyes.

Looks like he didn't like to have his picture taken. Or he hates his hair cut. :) Great shot and use of liighting from the blinds and very crisp.
