Wow...what can I say? I was stoked this got first....I thought it might get top 5...but Blue???...wahooooooooooo!! Kita stood beside me with a big grin on her face as this challenge rolled over. We sat on 7.000 for ages during the week...and then sunk way down in the last hours. At rollover 30 votes got wiped which pushed me back up .05.

This image was a rush job. The night before the challenge started I decided to do this right on Kita's bed time. A 10 minute make up job...then stood her in the shower and sprayed her face with hairspray and then threw glitter over the makeup..hence the eyelashes...then about 10 shots under the studio lights...a quick wash off and into bed. I was dead tired from writing the Floods book...so this was not my best work...but a big shock on the votes.

So thankyou, thankyou everyone.

But most of all...thanks Kita...you are the best babe.

Amazing Photo, Ms. Judi! However, just remember that glitter makes great seasoning,...but...No Worries! You are excellent, expert, exquisite, and glittery, but not flaky! :} Get it? Friendly little barb to a superb photographer! :)

Congrats Judi!!! Maybe you should change your moniker to "Judi Blue"! :)

And thank Kita for us too! She is a wonderful model for all that you do... and WE are the ones who reap the rewards! Such wonderful shots!!!

But be careful, Judi! Some nasty UNknowing person could label you with child brutality. First you bend her up and around like a rubber Gumby:


and now you festoon her with pretty stuff postponing her bedtime. Just kidding!!

Very pretty colors and cool bokeh. The makeup overwhelms the eyes a bit but still a lovely image. Back to bump you up to 8.

Lovely. There's so much potential distraction here, but your framing and DoF make sure that the viewer's eye is always drawn back to that one magical spot. Nice work.

i love the sharpness of the left eye and i think that it stands out partly due to such shallow dof. I think though that if the eye was any less sharp the shallow dof would actually be a negative thing. 7

I think the glitter detracts from what is a great photo. All the elements are there already...lighting, focus, composition. Without glitter...I'd give it 8. With the glitter...a 6.
