Increased contrast of the image would be wonderful. You really needed to somehow be closer to the subject with a wider lens to capture the background and the surfer in clear view.

looks a bit bright and hazy to me, and the detail on the surfer is not what I might expect on a magazine cover.

Great action, nice colors and composition. This shot meets the challenge - it's vertical and has space at the top that could be blended with type without spoiling the photo's impact.

looks cold! i see too much noise though - maybe just the mist. i think a tighter zoom/crop would look a little better too. good luck!

Good capture but needs to be sharper. Colours are a lttle washed out, not meant to be a pun.

Nice action shot. I like the crop on this - keeping the rocks and spray in really adds to the drama of this photo. Wish the surfer was a bit sharper.

This appears to be overly zoomed (cropped) or overly processed. I'm leaning on the zoom part. Nice compositon, but the detail is lost or exagerated...
