I took a few dozen shots, trying to get a decent composition. My eye was quite sore by the end, due to the midday sun. I held the camera a little bit away from my face to lessen the brightness of the sun through the viewfinder. :-)

I liked seeing it during the challenge and I thought it was a great title as this does convey quite a spiritual tone. The flying squirrels are very pretty :)

This is so much more stunning in the large format vs. the thumbnail.

Nice capture. I like the way the light hits the tips of the birds wings.

Quite liberating. Lovely patterns of the feathers, the repetition in form, and the star of teh sun. Amazing exposure.

This is a really nice shot, and I like the sun burst, but I think you may get hurt in scoring as it isn't a defined a "pattern" as some of the others in the challenge....

The pattern is limited and not really a focus of the shot.

terrific shot of an otherwise uninteresting subject. You may get hit by people not seeing the 'pattern', but the birds and the feathers do it for me easily. good luck, 8

Great photo in so many ways. I see the pattern there, but the pattern does not strike me as an element of interest.
