I love the quirky way some tulips grow, and this pair caught my eye with the one in front seeming sort of flirtatious towards the one in the back. Also like the simplicity of this composition, and the way the stem leads my eye through the picture and the flowers are complemented by the greenery. Catching them just as they open says "spring" to me in all its realized and potential beauty.
PP - converted from RAW 3x and merged as HDR, cropped slightly, levels, "healed" hole and defects in the front tulip, cloned/blurred apparent glow on rear tulip and cloned/blurred out cyan patch on ground, dodged/burnt highlights and shadows on flowers, added border, 2nd layer (gaussian blur, lightened, merged in multiply mode), resized, sharpened with noise reduction, increased saturation slightly on front tulip. |
