 I wasn't sure about submitting a baby photo because they are so common.

However, this doll turned out pretty well, I thought.

I was sitting on a bench at the Del Coronado Hotel in Coronado CA, when a young woman and her baby sat down next to me.

Needless to say, I had my camera out and asked if I could take some photos. This was the only one where she was looking at me - her head wasn't too stable yet, so it was lolling around a bit.

I wish I had known I was going to submit this to a challenge, I would have asked the mom for an email address to send it to her.

Wow very strong portrait especially given that you took it on the hoof rather than at a studio. A top 100 position in a free study with a baby shot really does illustrate how good this image is

A picture that if you had your own studio could hang in the window and would be a great advertisment to passers by about how skilled you really are

OMG! Adorable and precious beyond words. You captured a winner here on more than one level! imho...I think this wonderful image would benefit from having the top part cropped out to the middle of the flower...just my opinion.
