 Trying to evoke the 1980s, that decadent overindulgent decade where most portraits only showed eyes, the barest indication of nostrils, and a mouth. I've owned the black dress, earrings and bracelet forever; bought the face-eating shades, the tiara is from a loonie store and I made the necklace. The cigar is a $3 cheapie wrapped in a genuine US$ bill, which only suffered lipstick stains and nothing more :-) Damped hair and made a rough chignon, slathered on makeup and took oh about 400 pix! Had to really work to get the angles just right and that semi-debauched contemptuous sneer.

Setup: 2 sheets of white bristol board taped to bathroom door, used built-in bathroom lights and 2 60ws pointing up at me from a chair. The Canon is mounted on a tripod. Set the Canon on continuous mode.

pp: crop, curves, shadow/hihglight, brightness/contrast, hue/saturation, cooling filter, image resize, usm, save for web

What a fantastic idea and execution, and I'm really impressed by your persistence and effort in getting it just the way you wanted it. The noise is noticeable, but I think it strangely adds to the debauched tone, like it's an unflattering tabloid shot.

Great idea, and setup. Your expression and costume is sooooo campy. I think I would have liked this better without the noise, and with nice crisp, strong contrast and saturation. I got a good laugh from the title.

I absolutely love this, I agree the sunglasses look cheap, but I'm into lo-fi in certain photos so I kind of dig the noise, although I doubt it was on purpose.

I like how the expression on her face reflects her attitude towards the poorer people which may be surrounding her. This appears to be too noisy, though.

What a great subject, facial expression, wardrobe, etc. My one complaint would be the high noise level as it distracts from the rest of the image. Great idea!

I like this it̢۪s got GREED soooothing out if it. The line of the shoulders, the chin up, and her expression are perfect! And I am scoring it high. Just a couple things " I " think that could have really made this pic great. The glasses just don't fit the style they look cheap, the reflection of you (and is that another person too) in the glasses doesn̢۪t help either, and I'm not a fan of the shadow on the face. But, this is a great idea. Good luck. Scott
