A neat little trick for slicing onions is to do it under running water to stop the vapours getting your eyes (um, just the onion... you don't have to get in the shower - although it would make it a little more fun... or weird).
Loved the tilt. Great light and clarity, definitely magazine quality too. That's a good thing! |

I love this photo. You really captured the juiciness and texture of the onion. I think it would make a great framed kitchen print.

Once again, the mundane becomes art with a side of humor in the comments. :) |

What I loved about this was how simple it was. The color is subtle and the onion looks comfortable in the surroundings. (if an onion is capable of feeling comfortable) I thought the diagonal really added a bit of drama and loved the clarity of the shot. Great shot! |

This was one of my faves, think it had to do with putting th onion slice around the onion top and getting so close to it. Also i think i might be affected by the fact we dont have red onions around here and i really like them :) |

Love how you placed the subject of your composition on the diagonal for adds interest to the eye. Love the reddish purple hues that just pop off the page - and it pops nicely off the surface of the wood cutting board. Lighting is excellent for it illuminates the red onions perfectly. Love the details that we can see in this photo. Focus is wonderful. Good job on this one 8. |

nice macro study, but I don't get a feel for the dish.
Its a single ingredient, it doesn't say what it will become.
Its a 6 , but could have been an 8. |

I really like this shot. The lighting and colors are great. Not to mention a unique take on onion rings. Well done. |

Nice shot and good composition. It may have benefited from more contrast though. Deeper reds. Just a touch of hue/sat in ps or whatever you use. |
