Challenge: Serendipity (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Canon EOS-300D Rebel
Lens: Canon EF 300mm f/4.0L IS USM
Location: Montreal
Date: Apr 16, 2004
Aperture: f/5.6
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/1000
Galleries: Animals, Water
Date Uploaded: Apr 16, 2004

Shot with a Canon 300mm f/4.0L IS with a Canon 1.4x II Teleconverter. Cropped, sharpened, converted to B&W, border added.

I was shooting the birds in the distance and it was not until I opened the pictures in my computer that I noticed that I had captured the moment a seagull was getting out of the water with a fish between its beaks. Serendipity?

Nice action shot. I almost couldn't tell it was grayscale!

Sorry, I don't see how it meets the challenge. It's not really unexpected for a sea bird to catch a fish, is it?

I can hear them now...."Mine...Mine...Mine..."

I really like the choice of b/w for this shot. It's nice to have the three birds together like this....I think it meets the challenge. I even like the border.

well captured, and definately within subject. Not sure it needed the border though, as my eye was drawn to the white of the border.
