Unexpected Invitation is the better choice for title imo.
Even before I read the description of how you found the view and eventually decided to include the bench - I could "feel" the invitation in the title.
It's an outstanding shot. I wonder if levelling the horrizon line would improve it even more? Or is that intended or an optical illusion in this case? Well done! |

Is this one of the best results for a 2MP camera? This is quite some feat, and is surely testament to the fact that what we have here is a very gifted and skilled photographer, who also has an eye for great scenery. well done on the ribbon, and very well deserved too!

Thank you everyone. As I said before I really wasn't expecting to take first. But perseverance pays off, and after 30 challenges, I actually ribboned and won. I hope to do this highly in the future, but I with my camera broken right now I have to wait before submitting to future challenges. I thank all of you who voted me this high and left nice comments on a picture that shines God's glory in beautiful place.

On of the best in show. I'm pulling for you to win a ribbon. There is no chance that I would not stop to sit for a while on this bench. An unfortunate shaddow behind the bench. Very nice. 9 |

There are so many nice things about this shot. The bench is a great serendipitous experience which really invites one to sit and enjoy the lush and natural beauty. A perfect spot. The light balance is good, maybe a tiny bit too much contrast, but no, out in the bright day life is quite contrasty.
I have a couple nits. The ocean appears to be draining down to the left which is quite an uncomfortable vision for humans; 2% CW rotate removes all the discomfort. Also, since we are all digital here, one wonders about the broken shadow/light shown in that crack in the lower rear of the bench.
One thing that really gripes my [whatever] is your use of the word “Unexpected” in the title, as if you have serious contempt for your audience’s capacity to understand the implication or otherwise intuit that aspect from the “Invitation” (not to mention we ALL know this is a serendipity challenge). You assault us with that word.
Still, I give a decent score which could contribute to a win. |

Serenity for sure, but serendipity? I don't know. But the theme is nebulous enough to say, sure, why not? In that case you get a 10 from me for this superb photo. I can't find anything that I would change. Great color and depth; composition is perfect, as is the exposure. |
