Beautiful! Great focus and pose.

nice, but serendepitous?

Wonderful shot of the eagle. Good DOF. But why the big open area on the right? If there was something more than blurred background it would be ok. Crop down to show just the bird. P.S. I like the title. 9

Rule of thirds will give more impact

Nice shot, what size lens?

Great pose and well framed with good DOF. The eagle itself is a little soft focused for me but this is a very fine image. In photoshop - Amount: 100 Threshhold: .3 and Radius 0 would work very well to improve the focus using Unsharp Mask. I tried that to see what it would look like. I thought it improved the image and this is a really good one to start with. :) Some color adjustment with brightness and contrast gives it a little more impact, but you have to be careful not to overdo it and overexpose the area above the right eye. This could be made into a fine print.

interesting title

Wonderful eagle. Not sure of the serendipity unless this is a wild bird and it just happened.

Yup...it's great shot with nice composition, but not screaming 'Serendipity'
04/22/2004 04:08:27 PM
beautiful ... would be a 9 or 10 in a different challenge

Sorry, I don't see how it meets the challenge. The caption might provide context that you happened to be somewhere and you got this shot, but if that's the challenge criterion, couldn't ANY picture meet the challenge?

Is this taken in the wild, or in a zoo?
Great shot regardless, I love how much the eagle stands out. Not quite sure how it fits into serendipity though.

wonderful picture, however the eagle could have taken up more of the frame

How is this surrendipitous. Didn't expect to find the eagle??
04/21/2004 05:28:11 PM
Striking stare...depth of field and framing great. But you know what I'm going to say next don't you...challenge

Sweet shot, like the off center subject, but serendipity?
04/21/2004 03:08:30 AM
Awesome capture. Lucky you!

One of the best 'eagle' shots ever......the drop of water on his beak is a nice addition. :) 8
