 What unbeleivable luck!! Sunday I was invited to a gallery about an hour from my home, where some of my photos are going to be displayed. I had never been to this part of the state before and it was just georgous. I wanted to go shooting after our meeting and this friend asked me if I would be interested in shooting some guys fly fishing...Great idea, only there was no one fishing there. There was however this huge cow pasture and this one VERY pregnant cow. As luck would have it shortly after we arrived, she began giving birth. What an incredible scene for a "city girl" like me to witness. Mom and baby were doing great when I left, the baby had even already tried to get up and walk...I have some neat shots from that, that maybe I will post after the chalenge. But if that isnt serindipitous, I don't know what is.

I agree totally with "WHAT'S UP WITH THE VOTES?" My guess is that too many voters are big-city-dwellers. My gosh, Shelley, you were lucky to see real life this close! And to those people with the "yuk" factor, just wait til you see your own child born! Then you'll change how you feel about a picture like this.

My God....whats up with the votes!!!!!! The challenge was Serendipity...not oh the shot is gross or I dont like.....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I do not find many more shots serendipitous......I might have cropped a bit tighter at the top.....

otherwise a top 5 for sure

Yowza! This is quite "in the moment" Sure grabs my attention; only suggestion is a tighter crop -- although I'm not really sure I want to be any closer ;)

One one level, ick! On the other, great catch! Exposure is off, and the color feels a bit flat. But 7 for meeting the challange topic. :)

It was a hard topic to produce a photograph, but I think this really is serendipity. Not something you come across everyday.It's sharp, bright and you were at the right place at the right time.

Hard to watch but a powerful image. Bravo. Could a few moments after this when the calf was just born be as powerful and more tender? Great focus on this shot. (7)
