 In my experience, nothing is more immovable than someone in a warm bed, first thing on a Monday! My mother and sister obligingly posed for this shot.

I'm really not very pleased with this for two reasons; firstly, the light coming in from 2 opposing windows seemed to clash and focus mainly in the one place. That annoying glare on her arm and on the wall right above the headboard is going to cost me but without the use of selective editing, I just couldn't seem to fix it.
Secondly, the whole job was rushed and I think that shows. My struggle throughout the week to find a willing model failed and today, deadline day, my sister showed up but had only 10 minutes free to pose for me. I do like the idea though, as much as I'm dissatisfied with the result.

Editing: noise removal, sharpening, some contrast and brightness tweaking, cropping and resizing.

I understand this scene. You are pretty harsh on yourself about the technical aspect of this. That's a good way to begin learning how to get exactly what you want. If you know what you don't like, then you begin to notice it more when you are composing or setting up for a shot.
This is not bad at all for a 10 minute shoot.
It's a good take on the challenge subject.

Next time, bend a notecard over your flash (so it makes a tent) -- this gets rid of the random shadows and gives the whole pic a better feel. (I used to have your camera, so I know ;) )

yep, can understand that. The colours are great, lighting works, not sure about the crop on the left though, for some reason it doesn't work for me. Not sure if I would prefer to see more or less of this person (probably more). The leg on the bed might be the distracting thing.....

The idea here is great but the setup is lacking. I feel that the crop is a bit too tight. The apparent use of the on-camera flash is always distracting. The colors feel a bit flat, and the photo is too smooth, lacking the necessary sharpness.

You must know my sister! Haha. Color is not too overdone, good. The lighting is a bit weird, maybe warm light coming in from the side like sunlight.
