 this is a female paper wasp who is building her nest as the weather warms up .. she would have hibernated during the winter .. the nest is quite small now but she'll add more to it and it will get to be about 2-3" wide .. she's laying her eggs in the nest and the one's that hatch will be part of her colony, all females ..

basic edit as i was going to enter this into the work challenge .. like 'a mother's work is never done' .. i didnt enter it, felt the 'work' wasnt obvious enough ..

I really like the perspective of this. I also like the eggs, the angle its shot at, and the detail captured especially in the eyes. I wish the shadow lines were a bit softer, maybe a nice diffuser? Otherwise very nice.

Wow! That's an amazing perspective. I love that you captured the eggs in there and great detail in her eye. You must have been fairly close to her, so I'm curious how you got this without upsetting the wasp?
