Thank you all for your comments.
As far as the shot itself, it was created using a laser pointer but the post processing with increase constrast and saturation made the lines look more "solid" than it was when the photograph was taken. The reason is that the laser hits the violin wooden surface the reflects in different direction which makes it look fuzzy.
The idea was to create "sound waves" around the violin, while making the violin more VISIBLE from the laser light. Hence the title, Interpretive Dance.

It's a great idea, using a laser pointer to light up this violin! It looks wonderful, somehow strange, not from this earth... I love this pic and give you a 10 for it - KAOS. Note: The onliest point to criticise, I've got is - the top at the lower right side of the violin is missing.. and there is one part, where the lines don't fit together - why? That's interesting... |

Very nice, good use of laser light. A less random pattern would have netted you one more point from me. 9 Swash |

Not the most interesting object to do this on. Compare it to the table and nude. |

did somebody turn you in? of course you didn't violate editing rules, you used an open shutter and a laser pointer, right? very very nice, if i was you i'd take the administrator's editing disclaimer as high praise. nine for you. |

great composition here...love the movement on this shot...evokes the frenzied bow and fret work of stringed performance. very emotive, makes me hear music. Great work! ~mcmurma |

I think that if this would have been the only laser shot, I would have rated this a 10. The laser in the one with the nude was more uniform. I'm only counting this one down is because of the pink spots (maybe more exposed areas). Is that a fair assessment? Otherwise, I like the effect and the composition. 9 |

Your treatment of the instrument with the laser has the effect of a bas relief rubbing...... quite good use of the entire picture plane and enjoyable subject matter. undieyatch |

I like the way the red "dances" over the violin and brings out the details of it. The only thing I think would have been neater would have been if you could have made the light more steady and rhythmic. Except for more modern music (12 tone and the like), I associate the violin with steadiness and precision. This looks frenzied to me, but, hey, what do I know? karmat |

not sure why this needed an administrators note... the effect has been used on several pictures on the site.. slow shutter speed with a laser projected acros the object... nicely done.. |
