 This was a bit of luck shot.

My colleague at work who is a birder, happened to mention on the day the challenge was announced that there were a lot of Waxwings in Tampere, some were quite close to the office. So, next day I popped the camera in my bag and went out for a walk at lunch time. This is the best of the shots I got, but happily seemed to fit the challenge.

WOW. Pretty surprised to get in the top 10. Thx

Some lovely use of colour here; the red berries, that lovely peachy-tan cheek and the little splash of yellow on the tail. Really pretty shot.

Lovely capture. I like your minimalistic background and bokeh and the detail and color of the bird are super. The red berries create a nice contrast and the single berry in the birds beak is the proverbial berry on top.

What a cool bird and a perfect story-telling capture! I can even see his little tongue :-) A blue sky might have been a better background but really, this is darn close to perfect.

This is a wonderful shot and suits the spirit of the challenge well - the color of the red berry in the bird's mouth is echoed in the color of the bird's face.. just a delight on the eye.. great detail in the feathers.. excellent job getting the catch light in it's eye.. the composition of this photo is strong.. well done
