Thanks everybody for your votes and comments! This is my first challenge entry, and I am quite satisfied with how I did (and with the comments I received ;).
I agree that the dirt is distracting. The structure of the steps isn't so bad in my opinion, especially if the image is larger than here.
Regarding the shadows, I believe that they are important. I also took some pictures where the shadows were not visible, but I like this one better. There is more depth in the image, and it doesn't become completely abstract. That's also why I believe that a tighter crop (without the top right corner) would have become too dull. |

| This looks like a couple things to me. First, it looks like that building that (I can't remember his name) keeps winnind ribbons with. And it also looks like stairs to a swimming pool. I like the colors, and the shadows are a nice touch in this shot. The texture of the blue though makes the shot look grainy. Nice focus and the angle and framing are good as well. Definately abstract looking. ~Heather~ |

| This is great except for the distractions from the lines in the form of small white blotches on the blue portions of the image which could have easily been cloned away. |

| the triangular shadow at the top right is a little distracting...might be better with a tighter crop. otherwise this is great... perfect blend of form and color. |

| Excellent subject and composition. You might consider cloning out the miscellaneous white specs on the steps. Great curves. |

| Really cool. The shadows on the steps are a tad distracting, as is the one at the very top right corner, but not too much. Pretty color. |
