Hello from critique club :)
If you look at it carefully, a thin monkey holding up bunch of three branches :P
and the sky does remind me The Simpsons :D
I like the minimalism here, earth is almost a line, and sky partly cloudy with white puffy clouds :) blue sky. I tell ya, this does NOT deserve 1s, but they must be DNMC people :\
Technically very good photo. Quality image, sharp and soft at the same time! Compositing, as I said, I like it a lot. I wish that bushes or whatever on the left, wouldn't be there. Then again, nothing is perfect. I didn't vote for that challenge and if I did I probably would give 6 or 7. 5.5 a little low for my taste. 5.7 or 5.8... maybe stretching a little but it's a nice photo.
I checked your site again. You know what you are doing, so keep up the good work :)

Very nice use of open space, the clouds were perfect for you. |

Interesing composition........Not really sure what to think about this. It goes against all rules of thumb etc to to with Photography, yet somehow it, to some extent, works.
I have been rather critical of people who shoehorned in landscapes, yet this photo, and its composition, makes me think it was taken with the challenge in mind.......
This light is good, the colours are spot on. There is still a lot of sky in the photo, and little else. Would have been great if the back of the sky was not completely clouded, but you can't fix nature.
Still can't make up my mind on this, I can't see it being as effective with more foreground. I am sure you are going to get people bagging you for the lack of it though. I've talked myself into it, well done, you have made me think, and the composition is very effective. |

Nice pic but doesn't really have anything to do with Art R., IMO. |

this is a very pretty shot, but there isn't much sense of story. Even just someone walking towards or climbing the tree would bump this shot up that bit more. |

This is a great shot, I love that low horizon with the lone tree and the great sky. It may be a bit of a shoehorn, but the theme asks for shoehorns, so I don't mind. 9 |

...and that's when it happened. Art fell off the edge into the abyss, proving what he has been saying all along- that the earth is FLAT dammit! |
