 There is a star in this picture. And I was definitely shooting for this challenge. There are two Christmas tree-like structures at the entrance to the Mainz Christmas market, with "stars" surrounded by lights. The pedestrians just happened to be in the frame. (There are two, I suspect, since I don't think the guy actually had three legs.)

I know that what I shoot for a challenge doesn't always translate into meeting it, but I enjoy the whole process of shooting for it anyway. This was shot with the 10-22 (too darn cold to take off gloves and change lenses) and zoomed while shooting handheld.

My apologies for the title - it was a placeholder and I forgot to go back and change it. Don't know what I was going to call it, but hadn't planned on leaving it as it is!

I know I'm a little late in the messaging here, but this is a wonderful shot! I love the blur, the colors, the depth, and the man to give it perspective. Great job!

You can never guess in advance how one will fare under mass opinion. I would also have expected this to come in mid pack or so, however I gave it an 8 and obviously, many others also found it appealing.

Hah! This one of two 10's I gave. I can't believe it didn't crack top 5, let alone top 10... Simply one of the best shots in the challenge, emotively and technically.

very good, even fascinating. Just the good motion, not too much, the star is visible but the whole is dynamic, original, and beautiful.
