Went to the aquarium to take pictures of starfish for this challenge. The tiny starfish was on the glass, and the fish kept swimming around oblivious to it; eventually I got a shot where it looked like the fish was looking at the starfish. (It wasn't of course--the fish's eyes are on the side of its head, not the front!)

PP: cropped, scaled, adjusted curves, sharpened, adjusted saturation, applied selective Gaussian blur for noise reduction, and added border.

-------------------------

Apparently the starfish was less noticeable than I thought. If I could do it over, I'd follow Rainbow-Coloured-Soul's excellent suggestion of cropping to highlight the starfish more.

Wow, I was so busy studying the fish and trying to find something "starry" about it, and thus had the picture "scrolled" so I could see all of the fish, I completely missed the starfish the first time around. Now, it looks so obvious, I'm wondering how I missed it to begin with!

I was fixated on the lovely Lion Fish and finally saw the star after a while. Very nice colors, DOF and composition, though maybe it's a little bit cramped it does maximize the detail. Did you stick the "star" on the aquarium glass? It really grabbed the fish's attention. Well done.

To be honest, when I first saw this picture I did not see the little star at all, and I was left thinking "cute fish, but doesn't really fit with the challenge". Now I've finally spotted it, I'm reviewing my score and giving you much higher.

Personally I think to accentuate the gorgeously cute ickle star, I would have cropped somewhere around the fishes head to accentuate the fact that fishy is looking up at ickle star. This would have been a ribbon winning picture in my eyes....

Wonderful effort though :)

This is fabulous! These are really hard to shoot at my aquarium (not that I own the aquarium, lol). I got one really good shot of these guys a couple years ago and it sells well at stock sites (believe it or not!). 10 from me!
