Well surprise me, I didn't think this was yours! The capture of the spraying wings is wonderful. Congrats on the 6+ score! |

This is beautiful Andrew! The colours pop so well... did you do some single image HDR on it? Or was it dropping the highlights with shadow/highligt that gives it that really cool quality?
I am always totally amazed by your photography, especially of birds. This should have rated much higher. |

That must be some shake - excellent capture of the feather and water drop action. And what a great beak :O |

the colors on the beak seem to be pushed just a bit to far...but a wonderful capture, I can almost hear the thrashing of the wings |

I personally might have perfered a less tight crop, and I would also suggest a little more contrast to whiten up the highlights... but awesome capture! |

the explosion of the water is very cool - i do find it strange how my eye is drawn away from the bird and to the small green section of the water on the left |

Sharp while retaining huge sense of motion. Needs to be in a photography textbook as a great example of "freezing" motion to put emphasis on it. Tones balance well, and this dynamic image keeps the eye busy for a long time. |

...and so it came to pass, that when evil was afoot, and the safety of the people was in danger, and the world seemed to be a more frightening and dangerous place, that The PelicanĂ¢„¢ would burst from the waters in a shower of droplets and bring joy and relief to the hearts of The Sandbar once again. |

I love when birds do this. Especially when this bird does this. Don't think it needed to be so over-sharpened tho. |
