Not much time this week but a sunny day in a relative's garden foudn me scouring the flower beds for anything of interest. Found this dopey fly and shot a macro.

Something new = insect. Somewhere new = Great Aunt's garden.

Cropped, sharpened, dodged head and body of insect slightly, + 20 saturation and saved for web.

I thought you captured the details on the fly beautifully, right down to the irridescent colors but for some reason this shot just doesn't wow me. For that reason I gave it a five. I don't usually like to be vague but I think in this case it is just a matter of taste.

Insects bug me, but this an exceptional image. :) Good framing and use of DOF and ROT and very high quality. This should be a ribbon contender.
