This was my first image ever entered into a challenge. I didn't really know what the site was about and I had just got a camera.... I know a lot more now, and I would not have entered this image if I was more familiar with this site... |

i like the moment you captured, but the lighting makes the photo seem a little flat |

I am sure the shot has a lot of meaning to the family but with that being said it really just comes off as a snapshot family photo which is not likely to score well on this site. |

This could be a really touching image if the woman were looking with love at the child... but her eyes are closed. His hand is also cut off...and the flash is making harsh shadows. Try again! I think this will be a good scene to capture. |

The lighting's harsh, and the kid's head and arm are clipped. Wish we could see his face. Not the most flattering look on the woman's face either. |

Lots of energy here! Got a bit of a snapshop feel to it though and its pretty soft. I'd recommend a faster speed setting to capture the action crisper although that may be difficult with the low light. I'd also recommend a different point of view. The shot taken from the normal standing position can come across as a bit boring some times. Why not get on the bed yourself! Some shots from below or even above could get some great results! |

I think capturing this fun moment would be better if it were at a different perspective, better lighting, and with the color more balanced. It does look like a fun time though. |

1 - (edited) - if you wanted to submit this style of image, perhaps trying to show more motion, creating an artistic effect with it, learning the technicals involved in producing a good motion blur image (past Challenges and the Forums can be a big help (or of course, searching the internet)), paying attention to the surrounds within the frame/image to ensure they do not distract from the subject(s), etc. As for using this image as is, perhaps a crop variation and some pp (post processing (GIMP is like Photoshop and free) effects may have given this a little extra, who knows... The themed Challenges are a good way to learn, if you are wanting to create photographs that will bring more impact to the viewer. |

This feels like a snap shot with lots of clutter, a lack of focus, parts of bodies cut at wrong points, harsh lighting, just multiple problems |

Sometimes the quality of a picture is what it means to the photographer. Wish I had half that energy! |
