Now why the hell would you want to live here?

What's even worse is that they had an explosion at that grain elevator just before Christams. Four of the ten or twelve homes on the cul-de-sac are up for sale.

I know the phone and power lines are butt ugly and really ruin this shot, but I chose to submit it anyway for it's comic appeal.

I'll be very happy is it cracks 5.5

Nice showing bro. Insane living conditions. Such luxury mixed in with a big concrete piece of crap. Great capture.

How bizzare. At first I thought you pasted pictures of cool little houses onto another picture, because I've never seen anything like this. They look new, why would a builder build in front of that grain factory or whatever it is! No garages but they look like nice little houses. I bet the price is reasonable for these. :) Nice one.

Thanks for all the votes and comments. Another somewhat close call to ribbon-dom. Very surprised that this finished so well. Congrats to the ribbon winners. Well done!

I for one don't see the power lines as a bad thing, in this image. They're just another sort of yucky thing these people put up with. I still think you should have been ribboned...

I found this shot amazing! Both well taken and an amazing -- as in hard to believe -- find!

What an amazing photo - the idea of a little suburban cul-de-sac next to these silos is great. I like the touch of everyone having the same type of car on top of it.

Very interesting, but I can't feel a bit of sympathy for the owners of those homes....I hope they got a good deal. 8

Wow! This is great. I love the colors and the obvious attention to the challenge - even down to a SUV in each driveway! One of my favorites in the challenge!

NIMBY! Great perspective, composition and exposure. Nice crisp blue sky. Keystoning of the buildings due to the wide angke kens is exaggerated by your choice of border. Overall - one of the STRONGEST entries.

I can't wait to see where this is. I am always amazed at "if you build it someone will buy it"
Good idea and composition

Oh, what the heck. I'm raising my vote to an 8 on second consideration (from a 7). Clearly meets the challenge, VERY interesting composition. I can't imagine people actually bought and live in these houses! I like that there's a car in every driveway, too. Good symmetry. About the only thing I don't like is the dark sky; wish it was lighter and had some clouuds. Oh, darn it all, I'm going to raise it again to a 9. You'd better get a ribbon after all this angst!

Truly bizarre. Interesting find. Makes for a good photo, technically i wonder if you could of gotten a different angle so that you could of cropped more off the left getting rid of the tall part of building. Though i do like the curve feel from perspective you shot at. just a thought. well done.

Very interesting. Would have been absolutely outstanding in the Out of Place challenge! Seems a little OOF...distance probably. I like the uniqueness. Will probably be hard to get some folks to understand the whole opposite concept in this shot, but it is a good attempt. :o)

Wow! And thanks for taking what could've been a snapshot, and keeping it well-composed. Power-lines are unfortunate, but not much you can do on that front.

I really like the lines and the position of the three houses. Was it just luck that there were cars in each driveway or did you have to wait for that? I'm not crazy about the border, but that's a personal thing.8.
