 It was a beautiful day at 3rd Street, and the guys were sometimes posing for me and just enjoying their sport. this one stood out in my collection because he was not 'stunting' but was just hanging out, enjoying his space. the gorgeous curve of arm, body and legs appealed to the artist in me.

If I had 'shown his face' - well it would have been a completely different picture. Think of it, his head would have been crammed under his arm and the curving lines would have been lost. Of course, I could have (er) walked on water and gotten him from the other direction.

Some one of these days, I'm gonna have to get that lens fixed and start using it again.

I do appreciate all the very, very nice comments that suggested I could have shot the image a different way. But even though my interpretation landed way down in the standings, I'm very happy with it.


Not necessarily my 'best' picture, but one I like.

This is a great sport to watch but being this close takes away from it. It would be nice to back up and see that he's really 30 feet above the water.

its shame you cant see the sea coz now the pic actually doesnt make sense . sure we know what is he doing but we cant see it ...

I know you don't have much control over shots like this, but it would be better if we could see his face -- even some emotion. Maybe shooting a burst of shots next time...

Cool action shot! The colors feel slightly muted to me, maybe a tad of saturation and contrast would really help it to pop. Well captured and a shot to be proud of.

Great photo, however a little static for such an action sport. A bit of radial blur , more water flying around, or including the launch point would help improve this.
