I like the composition. Would look better if the bottom tiles were cropped out. Needs to be rotated. |

Nice dramatic lighting. I would've tried to go with a little darker backdrop and got rid of the placemat too, to make everything dark and kind of grim. But that's just me - Inspzil |

Don't know of the superstition but will take your word for it. As far as the photo goes should have cropped off the bottom 1/4 of it to get the balance better. Other wise is pretty clear and rather good. Not a 10 but it is a nice 7 |

Just because I've never heard of it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I like this shot very much. I think that the angle and framing/cropping are good and focus is great. LIghting really makes this shot. Good luck in the challenge. ~Hbunch7187~ |

Very stylish -- all straight lines except the bowl. I wish I had that setting to photograph some bonsai... |

This is a neat shot. If it wasn't for the title, I wouldn't have understood it. I'm learning a lot of superstitions this week! I think this shot need ssomething more dramatic to really finish it off. The bowl seems to be slightly off center in the frame, to hurt the composition a bit. The bottom of the table being visible (ie. I can see "under the table") is a bit distracting. Maybe a different perspective could really finish this shot off, or maybe just a tighter verticaly crop would be cool? - JB |

I never knew that one. Neat. Love your shot, but would of liked the bottome cropped tighter....really doesn't add to the shot and would of brought us closer to the bowl. I like this shot. Good luck. Justine |

I hope the superstition isn't true for the person who set this one up! 8/10 |

interesting, nice setup. think you could crop a couple inches off the bottom, seems to distract. |

my pro photographer pal told me not to use tall rectangles unless i had a good reason. this is a fine picture, but the fact that i can see under the table doesn't really change it either way, so maybe this is one of the situations he's talking about. was there something on the sides of the bowl that needed to be cropped out? |
