 My son's second to last little league game was tonight (thus the 1000 ISO). I didn't know the Ump, but asked if I could borrow him for 5 minutes after the game. Found the kid with the biggest attitude and told him his dream had come true--he gets to yell at the ump! Took a few quick shots--didn't pay attention to background, details, etc.

Ok, two days into it, and I'm at 6.65 (down from 6.73 yesterday--but it's pretty exciting! Ok, back to reality now...

Meggie says: As long as we're all dreaming, our schools should have vegetarian options :D

Oh wow! How cool can it get! Thanks for the comments everyone--it was a fun ride.

Actually, this was fun from the very beginning. When I told the kid that he got to yell at the ump, his face just lit up! The ump had a great time, too. They both had to work hard not to grin, and at one point the boy was rolling in the dirt laughing. It lasted about 10 minutes or less, because I didn't want to keep the ump, and they were holding up a team meeting because they were missing their catcher.

Cool!!!

I forgot to add-I didn't have the guts to ask the ump. I loved the idea, but it seemed like an imposition. My husband told me "don't be silly! go ask!" So it's all his doing. I got up the nerve and asked. I'm so glad I did. this was probably the most fun I've had with DPC--all the way around!

This is so great and funny too! I feel scared to ask strangers to pose too, so I understand how you felt! Now you have given me courage to do it as this is FANTASTIC!!! They are the perfect models and did it the perfect way! I bet anything, if you could find them, they would like a print of it for themselves!

Congratulations on your first, and very well deserved, blue.

I'm really enjoying this image. It has a sort of Norman Rockwell feel to it. I could easily see it on the cover of one of the many magazines that grace our home when I was a child.

Absolutely wonderful image. Thanks for sharing the back story. If anything it makes it even better.

The ump bent down like that really adds a lot in this great situation. So glad you gave the details, I would have loved to have been there for this take!!
