| While the background does make the subject stand out, I think it is a little too bright. Kinda hurts the eyes to look at it. But a good macro of the spider. |

wow, that's quite yellow :)
challenge -- met
technical -- i suspect you played a lot with the contrast because (well, because everything's so colorful ;) some of the spider legs are no longer visible. personally, i would've prefered a more natural rendition of the spider, but that's just me.
composition -- having the spider in the middle of the shot works here. |

| Your "artistic" rendering is what made me rate this quite high. If it had been an "ordinary" shot of the spider, I would not have like it nearly as much. This definitely has a certain appeal to me - in spite of the fact that I very much dislike spiders. lhall |

| Great spider. How'd you get it like this. Is this it's natural color? I like the life like shots....text book shots. Since I'm not sure I'll give you a 6. If you tell me this is his real color, I'll have to rethink my score - more like an 8 or so. PTL |

| Artsy yes, perhaps having the spider a little off center as well as the shade of yellow being a little less overpowering would help contrast the spider from the background. |
