 NO mice or kittens were hurt during this photograph.

I thought children were hard to photograph. These little ones are even harder. They were on the go at all times. The cat really didn't want anything to do with the mice and the mice weren't to concerned about the cat until the cat figured out they looked like a toy and she/he started to paw at them and then finally bite one very gently. It was time to end the photo shoot after that.

I added a bit of color to the cats eyes and used a bit of neatimage to take the grain out. Not the best of shots, but thought it was cute.

Thanks folks for the kind comments. This was by far the hardest shot I have ever taken. These critters move fast. 5th place isn't to bad. :-)

sonja--this could not possibly be any cuter--his expression is priceless! reminds me of bear, a kitten i used to have who looked just like him. great shot!

I like this very much but I think I would have liked it more with some more definition on the cat. I appreciate those piercing green eyes and think it it great that they are well defined but head of the cat looks mis shapened? Is there it missing an ear? As I scroll this down I see this being better with a crop from the top to just above the eyes...about a half inch on my monitor. It's a little squarish as a result but the image is much tighter and more effective than it already is. Nice work.

I have three cats that have NO clue about our rodents...one when she was a kitten got INTO the rat cage and slept with them....they dont know if we dont teach em...quite q microchosm of the world...

So far this is the highest photo I've rated. Great job. I'd kinda like to see more of the kittens head and the right mouse's nose in focus, but the creativity and lighting more than make up for it.

ah ha.. that cat is menacing.. but there is something about it that doesnt look right.. is it a picture, or a real cat? Great shot regardless :-)
