just about the perfect macro shot. i don't care about the triangle in the lower right, or the fact that you can't quite see the little buggers eyes. this is real neat. |

That's awesome. I'd like to see maybe a little more lighting, though probably not possible on a nature walk. I like it. Jacko 9 |

He is so tiny and so cute. The only flaw I can see in the whole picture is too much shadow. The shadow on the hand at the top is totally distracting and the shadow on him takes away from him. Maybe a more direct from above shot would have helped in this area. Otherwise a very good shot. A sure 10 with those 2 flaws. But will still give an 8 for what it is. PTL Would love to see a better shot of it, without the shadow and one when it grows. |

Very nice shot! It's sooo small! (Thanks for the point of reference) The only complaint is just a nit, the color value of the hand and the gekko are a little too similar. 9 Swash |

challenge -- met ... wow, that's quite a small gecko. the hand gives a good feeling of size, well done. technical -- just a little more light on the gecko and maybe some reflection from the other side to even out the lighting and remove the shadow on the hand at the top would be better. your focus and detail in the photo is excellent though. composition -- two things that i would've considered doing differently (and you may very well have tried them and chosen not to do them, so ignore me if you have). i would've tried to include more hand so that you don't have that dark corner of additional background in the lower right. would it have been possible at all to photograph the gecko from its level rather than top down so that the viewer can connect with it more by seeing its face? or would that sense of scale have been missing? in any case, good photo. -- gr8photos |

Very nice focus and balance. I think the black in bottom right takes away from the shot though and maybe just a bit too much shadow on the lizard. DPz |

Excellent lighting for this subject. I'd like the hand to take up the entire shot though so that the dark triangle in the lower-right isn't a distraction. (6) |

the background would have been better with a different color to bring out the subject--6bobgaither |
