This is a moth I noticed outside our garage. I brought him inside for a little portrait shoot. Just a short trip into the fridge, and he was real cooperative!

the most awesome thing about this photo is that you still have jean-luc picard as your avatar.

that is all.

Very cool, fabulous detail. But - when I was voting I looked and looked at this one and could not figure it out - I kept thinking I must be missing something... and I was right.

I gave it a 5. I couldn't tell what it was. Now that you've told me what it is, I still can't tell what it is.

Not sure I like the off-center framing coupled with the reflection. One or other might be better for me.

I'm with Jeger, gave it a 6 but I couldn't figure out what it was either. I think if you had but "Moth" or something to identify it as a moth into title it may would have done better. Does it have eyes or are they covered up by the "fur"? Excellent Macro though.

i gave it a 7. i thought it was well-composed and lit nicely, but for the life of me, i could not figure out what it was a picture of...lol. now that i know, i'm still not sure i see it. i have looked at it for quite a long time, which is what a photo should get you to do.

I thought this was a great shot, and I love macro photography! Wonderful clarity, and I love the use of the mirror..the reflection adds to the image. I knew this was a moth. I gave you an 8!

I gave it a 6. Might have warranted a 7. The main issue is that I didn't know what it is I was looking at.

Not sure what it is. The focus is good, and the subject is cool, but it just lacks pop. (not in contrast or color) I think maybe it's because there is too much of the same thing. The focal point kind of blends in with the rest of the image, making it seem bland. Sorry I can't be more specific. The truth is, I'm not exactly sure why myself. I voted this a 6.

Wow. I never would have thought it was a moth. I thought maybe it was a strange rabbit like creature with something weird sticking out it's butt. *shrug*

Very nice capture.

Missed this one when I voted; really amazing detail! I love their feathery little antennae and you show them off wonderfully here.

I have no idea what I am looking at - it's rather bizarre, whatever it is!
