| Really odd shot in the sense that I haven't come across this style before. The front stalk so thin yet focused, the rear stalks lost in the grain of the background. To be fair I cannot place this shot. Is it abstract? A mistake? Deliberate PP? Im not marking low at all, a 6 at least. |

Camera pointed at sun (the obvious, no-brainer, cliche shot) with no redeeming qualities: 1
Cool, blocky colors instead of smooth gradient: + 1
Cool sumi-e look: +5

| I really like the texture that the noise makes here. I think that cropping the bottom at the distracting horizontal line would greatly improve your score, IMO. When I scroll the photo down to where I can't see this line, it seems to not only take away the distraction, but it improves the composition. |

| Minimalistic and simple. Grainy look works ok and is helped by the out of focus blade of grass. |
