This photo was taken while sitting on a rocking chair.

Rotate to straighten the verticals, cropped a bit, a little curves, changed the hue for a sepia effect, that's about it.

This could be another addition to my brown shelf!

========================

I was robbed of the brown!! Come on, people... there's no chair in this picture!!!

I love this shot, and I think the chair IS in the photograph. The rocking chair is more of an element here than in plenty of the other shots in this challenge.

Great job combining the "Chair" and "Perspective" challenges into one. I would have scored this in the top 3 of either.

I absolutely loved this image and scored it an 8, which, according to my votes would have placed it second. As soon as I saw it, I knew that the view was that of occupant of the chair. Brilliantly done.

Greetings from the Critique Club.

First impressions are OMG there is no chair and that's a mess!

Technically I can't really comment sorry. I just don't know much about this style. All I can say is that a crop to remove the "second horizon" and the bottom would have made me happier.

Artistically it's not bad as far as these sorts of shots go. I like the effect although I also know DPC generally hates it.

In summary no chair but it's not hard to infer the shot is from a chair. Having said that the challenge did say "Include a chair in your photograph" so you ignored the challenge - shame on you and shame on the voters for letting that go!

Feel free to PM me if you have any queries.

During voting, I skipped over this shot. While I loved the shot, and thought it was amongst the best in the challenge I had seen, I didnt see any chairs, so I abstained from voting. Incredible shot, and in a free study, this is an easy 10.

Oh crap, I just chose this pic as a fave and lost the comment I just left you! Looks like a Group of 7 painting. I love this. OK, so no chairs are visible...big deal. Chairs are normally made from wood. And during voting I *got it* and realized you were in a rocking chair when you shot this. Great work, Oh Noble Leader!

Seems wrong to nominate your photo for Posthumous Ribbons, Part IV but alas I will put it in that thread anyway

Seriously - I have two chairs in my image and you place 9 spots higher and nearly a 5.0??!!!! ;)

I thought when I first saw this that that was the idea - what the camera saw from a rocking chair - and that is a fantastic interpretation of a fairly boring challenge theme, frankly something I wish I had thought of. I love the way the land overlaps itself, like there are trenches just off that porch.

I apologize for robbing you. :)

I like it very much; there is the potential for chair, here.

Sorry, I gave it a 7 for a great abstract, this might have contributed for your not-so-low placing...

Hey! Where'd my comment go? This was my favourite. I was sure it would win the posthumous blue. Oh well. Next time.

Best of show. It's all chair, it's no chair, it's essence of chair and it's source of chair. It ROCKS!

lol - very clever idea. What a steady rocker too!

Okay -- here's my guess. You took the picture while rocking in a chair. I'm a genius, no? Great effect!

Love the image. Does not contain a chair.

So, the picture was taken from a rocking chair? The chair is not in the image, but I guess it's essence (rocking is there. I like the idea and the image is pretty cool.

Bit of a shoehorn I think. Good concept though.

I like the image and the effect and can only assume that the connection with chair must be that these trees will eventually be turned into rocking chairs.
That said I do feel that the processing has turned this into something that cannot be recognized as a photo anymore and looks more like a water color painting.

This is a darn cool looking abstract, but I'm trying hard to see how it fits the topic. Perhaps this is the view seen by an elderly person from their front porch rocking chair? I may have to come back to this one later.

Different approach of the theme. At first I thought "what the..." but your title supports the image. Otherwise I think you would have received some DNMC notes. *8* for being different.

I'm torn. Love the artistic feel - unfortunately I don't see where it meets the challenge. So I'm going to deduct one point for DNMC...8.

I was about to be rude till I read the title. Well done on thinking out of the box. I hope all people will like this but certainly not everybodys taste. 8

Not sure this counts for including a chair in your photograph but I will give you the benefit of the doubt. Besides I really like this and find it interesting to look at.

I like the faded colors and the oof on this. Generally I don't like these type of shot but I do like this. I think its the tones that grab me. Now where is the chair?

Interesting concept, and I see what you were going for here. However, there doesn't seem to be any natural place in the image for the viewer's eye to rest. Which might be your intention.
