you already know half the story here as already told by others - "better focus required"
I guess you went too close to the subject for the camera to properly focus.
The subject in my opinion again is not something where I would prefer a close up shot. Maybe yes if you had the option to cut and shoot indoor with no other distractions (like what you see as another stem with two other tomatoes I believe).
I would have used the wide side of my lens and suitably changing the composition that I can find some less distracting elements. It would have been ok, if it was a bunch of tomatoes rather than just 2 but less interesting.
I hope the above is taken in the right spirit. Keep shooting.

These look good. Love fried green tomatoes. YUM> You just need better focus, other then that, looking good. |

This is a good shot and composed very well. You did a great job with the depth of field but seem to have missed the focus. |

This shot needs a better focus. It is also rther symetrical (cut in two) which does not make it very dynamic |
