Thanks to all of you who did not doubt my entry. I had some very complimentary and helpful comments and I appreciate every one. To everyone else I hope you can take me at my word, I am not the type of person to ever do anything dishonest.

Great DOF, Nice.
04/21/2002 10:39:00 AM
I can imagine this was very hard to do. A few more tries would've gotten the quarter at a better angle and not so much head on.
04/21/2002 07:09:00 AM
Nice picture but I'm not sensing any movement - except for the title... therefore I have to grade it low.
04/20/2002 04:20:00 PM
the composition doesn't hold me for long.
04/20/2002 01:58:00 PM
There is nothing to indicate this object was moving in the first place. A necessary factor to prove there is "stop action" involved!
04/20/2002 12:20:00 PM
How do we know that its moving and not just standing on end?
04/20/2002 04:36:00 AM
hmmmmmm, is it really??
04/19/2002 09:14:00 PM
Okay... how many tries? I think this is one that would work a little better with some more blur to indicate motion (not for this challenge, but just to make the best image). Trouble is, I have this habit of standing coins up on end...
04/19/2002 01:55:00 PM
Kind of bland. Need more excitement. Something that implies more motion.
04/19/2002 02:48:00 AM
nice spin. was it difficult to catch it in the right angle?
04/19/2002 01:52:00 AM
aren't shots like this next to impossible to frame?
04/18/2002 01:23:00 PM
I can place a picture on a table and call it spinning too but that dosen't mean it actually was. I like the composition and all its just not a good example of a stop motion picture
04/18/2002 10:42:00 AM
This is a good example of stop motion. Very well executed. The photo just doesn't reach out and grab me, though.
04/18/2002 09:53:00 AM
Good close up shot but this picture could be read as a still shot of a quarter balanced on edge. Nice trry.
04/17/2002 11:32:00 PM
could be just standing on its edge
04/17/2002 06:37:00 PM
great shot.
04/17/2002 05:19:00 PM
Wow! This is a good one! Can't think of anything I'd change.
04/17/2002 03:28:00 PM
The tabletop is a bit too distracting, but the lighting is good
04/17/2002 03:26:00 PM
Nice shot. It either needs to be centered exactly, or more off-center. The light reflections are a little blurry, but that convinced me that the quarter was actually spinning.
04/17/2002 10:48:00 AM
original subject matter. i almost think this would have been better with some motion trails, tho but you did fulfill the challenge :)
04/17/2002 08:19:00 AM
if it is spinning then well done ... but I'm not so sure
04/17/2002 06:46:00 AM
Wow! How many takes did that require?
04/17/2002 03:35:00 AM
original shot well stopped
04/16/2002 08:47:00 PM
cool picture, but it's hard to tell if the quarter is really spinning. I'm sure that it is, but...
04/16/2002 04:15:00 PM
Except for title can't tell if it is balanced or spinning.
04/16/2002 01:49:00 PM
Centering this image would have made it better.
04/16/2002 12:43:00 PM
I like the idea with the coin (I'm trying it myself now), but I think it would have been a more interesting picture, if the coin was at the end of spinning and in the process of falling over. That way it would give a better impression that the coin is in motion.
04/15/2002 09:27:00 PM
Good job! I tried this, and failed to get something I liked. It would be better if it was closer to finishing, but I know from experience that it isn't that easy. :) Overall, I like it.
04/15/2002 06:36:00 PM
Great detail.
04/15/2002 06:23:00 PM
Sharp.
04/15/2002 01:34:00 PM
I can't wait to see what type of camera took this ! Nice clean and clear !
04/15/2002 01:16:00 PM
Impossible to tell if it is falling or resting on edge. More of a mirrired surface would accent the slight gap.
04/15/2002 01:12:00 PM
Very good detail, nice macro shot
04/15/2002 12:51:00 PM
This is a nice photograph of a spinning quarter. I can tell that it is spinning due to a little blur that is present in the photo. This photo could possibly be mis-interpreted as a stationary quarter because of the perspective. I tried some shots like this with poker chips. I found that getting down low with the camera and photographing the spin during the later stage when the chip was settling towards the table made a more dramatic shot.
04/15/2002 12:02:00 PM
good capture, the speckled background is a bit much though.
04/15/2002 11:33:00 AM
You captured the object well.
04/15/2002 10:41:00 AM
Its hard to say if this was really spinning or not.
04/15/2002 09:37:00 AM
either spinning or you've got good balance. Hard to tell if it was really in motion or not. Good maro focus.
04/15/2002 08:42:00 AM
is it really spinning or just on its side?
04/15/2002 12:38:00 AM
You may have caught an excellent shot, but as I see no indication of motion here, I have to rate 1 for lack of fit to challenge.
