 The Image: Taken in the Paseo slum that we visit in Tacloban in the Philippines. This lady would have no idea that she has won me a ribbon, but it's awesome that when I return I will take her a great framed print. The slum is poverty at it's worst.

The Edit: I really wanted to bring out that detail in her face and used Topaz detail, but I think I probably overdid it. I should have pulled back a little as it wasn't needed.

The result: I am over the moon to ribbon twice in a month in a Free Study. This is a really special place for me to visit and make a difference in the world. There were some amazing images in this challenge, so I am really over the moon.

Did you use Topaz first - then switch to black and white or did you do it the other way around

At first I thought I was looking at a piece of wood...and then I realized it was an old lady. Alright...slight exaggeration (sort of). Very nice shot.
